Uncle Chestnut’s Card Gype

Jul 29th, 2010No Comments

In his Autobiography, G.K. Chesterton mentions “the well-known and widespread national game of Gype” which he and H.G. Wells invented.

Now, the concept of Gype is combined with Chesterton’s own quotations to create Uncle Chestnut’s Card Gype, a game for 2 or more players.

Players use a 54 card deck to assemble items from Uncle Chestnut’s pockets into topics for his lectures and books. The rules are simple, but ever-changing. Based on actual lectures where Chesterton used seemingly unrelated scraps of paper from his pockets as “notes” during speaking engagements.

Card Gype features over 40 quotations from G.K. Chesterton, who was the basis for the fictional character “Uncle Chestnut.” It’s the most fun you can have with Chesterton’s quotes!

This game is based on the Fluxx® game engine, designed by Andrew Looney, and is used with an understanding from Looney Labs®.

There is a very limited supply for first-printing decks available. Due to being and amateur work of love, these decks have some printing errors that do not affect the gameplay. They are being sold for 50% off until they are gone.
